Chapter 5/8
1.Balance is the way that elements are arranged in a piece. Imbalanced work is when elements are not balance.

2.Horizontal goes from right to left or left to right. Vertical goes from top to bottom or bottom to top.

3.Symmetrical  balance is an object organized so that one side duplicates or mirrors, the other.

4.Asymmetrical balance is when both sides of the central axis are identical, but seem to leave the same visual weight.

5.Radial balance is is when all the elements circle out from the central focus point.

7. Shapes are elements of art. Mass and Volume describe 3 dimensional objects.

8. Naturalism is when elements are as precise as possible. Distortion is when an element is twisted or bent out of shape.

Chapter 8
1. Non-Objective is when things in the artwork have no object or specific subject matter.

2. Curvilinear is an element composed of curves

3. Rectilinear is when the elements edges have a sharp contrast.

4. Positive and Negative shapes is an effect thats caused due to the arrangement of the format.

Chapter 10
1. Three ways to depict illusion of depth is size, abstract shapes, and exaggerated scale.

2. One Point Perspective is a single point on the horizon lines.

3.  Two Point Perspective there are two points where lines connect.

4.Isometric Projection lines do not recede to the vanishing points.

5.Equivocal Space is is when elements overlap each other.

example of equivocal space

The artwork that I chose is by Ilya Zomb. In this piece he keeps the naturalism of the animals , people and nature. He doesn't change the way they look by distorted them. You see some curvilinear elements within the elephants body. Everything is being balanced on mainly on the rocks, but they also balance off each other as well. The elephant balances on the stick and the women balances off the stick on the elephants.
